So what ever I was doing till now was not work.. Cleaning...Cooking...ETC... all in vain...
I was called a working woman only when I joined a firm.... the situation is so-far-so-good types..
Though I have been working before in a similar domain... but everything looks so different to me..
Different people... different terminology... more over there are certain things that are surely different to me and makes me feel lonely in a crowd.. which might not effect others.. like... different lunch breaks.... different commute... different official relations.... entirely different welcome at home.... different good-byes.... different stuffs to do when I am back home... different weekends... different tensions....
I guess this was meant to me... I am in a home away from home...
In the end...as I always feel and say.. whatever happens, happens for good... I am learning... I am evolving....

ReplyDeleteLovely post Neha. Its true. Life in the 2 continents is very very different. But life per say is life, we have the same emotions, the same fears. Just the way we express them becomes very different. Good to see you capture that. Try reading Jhumpa Lahiri and Chitra Devakaruni Banerjee, they mostly write about Indian women who have moved or settle abroad, their lives, the intricacies and the complex web of things that they leave behind when they decide to leave.. only to spin a new web in the new continent, in a new way :)
ReplyDeleteGuess we finally leave all webs only when we die. Happy Blogging! God Bless!
